The profession

As a chemical technician (m/f/d) at Glencore Nordenham, you will gain experience in an exciting and diverse work environment.

  • Training Duration

    • Teamwork: You will work in a well-coordinated team, providing mutual support and assistance.
    • Operation of Large Equipment: You will learn to control and monitor our large production facilities.
    • Laboratory Analyses: In the laboratory, you will conduct small-scale analyses to support the production process.
    • Handling Chemicals: You will work with various chemicals, such as sulfuric acid and caustic soda, and learn to handle them safely.
    • Sample Handling: You will take and analyze samples to ensure the quality of our products.
    • Controlling Electrolysis Systems: You will learn to operate and monitor electrolysis systems.

    The training to become a chemical technicial (m/f/d) lasts 3.5 years. If you perform exceptionally well, you may be able to shorten the training period to three years. You will receive training both in our own training workshop and at the vocational school location in Oldenburg. Here, you will acquire all the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for your role with us.

    We expect you to have a secondary school diploma (Realschulabschluss) or an excellent lower secondary school diploma (Hauptschulabschluss). Additionally, you should have a strong interest in and good grades in chemistry, mathematics, and physics.
