The profession
As a Process Technologist (m/f/d) at Glencore Nordenham, you control and monitor industrial plants, conduct inspections, and document damages. You operate material handling equipment and adjust products metallurgically to meet customer specifications.

- Plant Control and Monitoring: You control and monitor industrial plants, adjusting them to changing conditions.
- Quality Control: You conduct inspections, take samples, and document damages to ensure smooth production.
- Vehicle and Machine Operation: You operate material handling equipment such as wheel loaders, mini excavators, or forklifts.
- Metallurgical Processes: You learn how to adjust products to customer specifications through alloying.
- Teamwork and Responsibility: You work closely with various departments and contribute to optimizing production processes.
The apprenticeship to become a Process Technologist lasts 3.5 years. With excellent performance, you can shorten the apprenticeship period to 3 years. You will be trained both at our facilities and at the vocational school location in Hamburg (block-based training). Here, you will learn everything you need for your work with us: theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
We expect you to have a secondary school diploma (Realschulabschluss) or a good lower secondary school diploma (Hauptschulabschluss). Additionally, you should have a strong interest in and good grades in technology, physics, and mathematics.
